  • Walk up the Thames

One of my favorite walk from Erith to Woolwich.Always lots to see.

    Midday sun

    Who's Fat Dan?

This post seems to lean a bit more every time I pass.

    Conveyor from the sand works.

    Old pipe.

    The way down.

    Blackberries.

    It's about 9 miles.

All with the E-M5 and 14-150.
Being left handed my brain sometimes works sdrawkcab

    All the best

I do that walk quite often, although I don't always go as far as Woolwich unless I have time on my hands (in which case I do a full walk that includes Crayford Ness as well).

Your photos are far better than anything I've ever managed to take.

I've done the Crayford Ness walk starting at Bexley station ,then down the Cray and then along the Darent to the barrier and back to Erith.I'll do that one again soon.Just takes a bit of planning living north of the river.

I don't travel well but I am fortunate to live in Erith so I can work out a walking "loop". It's three miles or so from here to Crayford Ness - I don't go as far as Bexley station but, once you're on the Ness, it'll be the same walk I think.

I mainly do it because I've been trying to lose weight for the last 20 months and it's the only sensible walk around here. I started just by doing very short walks but now I'm reasonably comfortable with 13 miles (if it's not too hot). The extra bit to the Woolwich Ferry and back is when I'm pushing myself.
