  • Tuscany with the OMD EM5

    Dear All,

Recently returned from a family holiday to Tuscany. Travelled with the OMD EM5, an olympus 45mm and the 12-50 kit lens. B&W converted in Efex pro 2. I used a number of the filters within the camera as well. Love the OMD, the picture quality, the usability and the discrete size of the camera. Lots of photos but I don't post that often so I though what the heck.

    hope you enjoy

    Best Regards

    Josh

Hi, long time no see, Josh.
I like the third and the forth from the bottom. A passage and a corridor scenes. both have a good sunshine on it, especially the third one. I also like the colours of the third. The motorbike and the yellow something on the floor also add some good atmosphere to each picture, I think.

You look like really enjoying the OMD-5. I did not know it has so many internal art filters.

      A very good varied selection.
I do get the impression that the lady on the right in the third shot was not very pleased with having her photo taken.

Lol. Even with the small size of the omd I was rumbled. She didn't complain though and carried on with her conversation.

Like I said loving the omd. I find it suitable for many types of photography. More photos from the trip here. http://www.flickr.com/photos/joshbear/

This is another superb set of shots - I especially like the black and white ones and, like Horacio, am curious to know if the camera's mono modes were used or if they were created in post-processing.

One of the colour ones has heavy blue fringing in a window - that could be fixed quite easily. I can't see any exif info in these images which is always frustrating for the curious! I'm sure there are at least 2 or 3 POTDs in this set too, but they would need to be in the DPNow gallery to qualify.

            Great work again, Josh!

Great set of images Josh, all are good but the last but one is my favourite.
              Regards Paul.
One day I hope to be the person my dogs think I am.

Re: Tuscany with the OMD EM5

Thanks for the comments all. Much appreciated. I did shoot in both raw and jpeg and used the black and white filter in the camera. But when I reviewed the pictures at home I thought they were too grainy so I used the raw to convert to tiff and then to black and white in silver efex pro 2. This was simple to use and gave loads of options.

                Best regards

And to be fair, Josh - you did mention this right at the start of the thread
