Aww those are both lovely clips (I looked at your other one too). Suzie's so incredibly laid back now, a completely different dog compared to how she was when you first got her.
I loved seeing the higgie too. I've been watching out for ours all hours this year but there's been no sign of them anywhere. Plenty badger and fox activity, loads of different bird but no hoggies. I'm just hoping I'm looking at the wrong time rather than thinking of the sad alternatives.

I was using the Canon SX40 for the clips. I find it does come up with good quality and its light for me to handle at this time.
Suszie is the most laid back dog you will ever come across.
She was dozing on the lawn a couple of days ago when a blackbird hopped by just inches from her nose and I have some shots of her laid down just a few feet from a cat.
Also - is it not a concern that a hedgehog is so exposed during daytime? Myabe the little blighter isn't well?

That crossed my mind too but I thought it looked as though it was getting about ok, also foraging and feeding. It was certainly tucking into that food from the bowl. What is that in the dish that. Pops. Are they special hedgehog pellets?
I thought it looked quite small and young though it was difficult to tell on the video. Perhaps it was a survivor from a nest that got washed away? If so it looks like one that may well be managing for itself.
It's at times like this when it would've been nice if the Pixel Pixie was around. His wife had a hedgehog rescue centre.

It certainly doesn't have a problem getting around and, when its had enough, it moves in a straight line to the place were it emerges from. I am pretty sure it is a young one. Only 2/3 weeks ago we had a family of 3 out at the same time. Its looking like both parents have gone awol

Thanks for that. The ones we have (or maybe had) liked to eat the raisins, mealworms and the dog food we leave out for the foxes and badgers, as well as foraging for worms and slugs. I'm encouraged that we don't see many slugs around but perhaps only the badgers are taking them rather than hoggies.
Our hedgehogs have always nested around one area behind the compost bins and behind the conifer hedges where David leaves pruned branches. grass cuttings. straw etc for them. We also leave old compost bins lying on their side behind the trees, shrubs and conifers at the bottom of the garden. All the wild animals use them for shelter on wet nights, especially the foxes. They queue up to feed and shelter in the bins whilst they're waiting their turn. The most confident fox likes to wait under that Acer we have near the bird feeders.
I'm considering buying a 'Hogitat' style dedicated hedgehog house then we'd have a better idea if they were there and if they were ok. It could be placed in a warm, sheltered place somewhere near the turned over bins - or even inside one of them. That'd help them in Winter too. Amazon has a selection of hedgehog dwellings.

I did it. I've just ordered a des res for Hoggies so at least we'll know they have a safe, warm refuge in winter.

That was such a lovely clip Pops. I am still smiling. I could not believe how unconcerned Suzie was. I imagined a dog would have gone for a hedgehog. The hedgehog didn't really seem afraid either.
