  • A wet wedding

We had such plans for the latest wedding: the bride and groom were supposed to get married in the doorway, with the guests sitting in the beautiful gardens followed by me on top of a ladder with the guests surrounding the bride and groom in their horse and carriage... however, the weather intervened, big time!

A brief few minutes of sunshine, so we quickly ran outside:

And finally one of my favourites (and the bridegroom's request) although I can't have done it too well, because not many people have guessed the film:

Well, even from the thumbnails I can clearly see that you did great job with the photos, Caz - brilliant Have you had any feedback from the happy couple and entourage?

It's a shame about the weather but you've nevertheless managed to bring out the 'sunshine' in those lovely photos.

I especially like the one with all the guests, the entire wedding party. Nice arrangement and I dare bet that one's going to generate a lot of interest from all the people who were there.

You did a great job imo, especially considering the unexpected and challenging circumstances.

You should be proud of a job well done in spite of the weather

Thank you for the compliments - much appreciated!

A selection is available on Facebook and have proved very popular, particularly the group shot. The rain did stop for long enough for me to have a go at a group shot outside although I had to pano and stitch it as people weren't keen to stand on the wet grass.

I'm not surprised that group shot is proving so popular. It really is a belter imho. If I'd been one of that group I'd definitely want a large printfor myself.

I could spend ages poring over a large print of that group picci even though I wasn't there and don't know anyone in the picci.

              Re: A wet wedding

Did my first two weddings this month as favors to a nephew and my youngest daughter. Pouring rain for the first one (in Vermont) caused everything to be shot in a tent with flash. I did get the bride to stand next to the tent entrance during a brief letup from the rain to get at least one non-flash shot.

For my daughter's wedding in South Carolina we had too much sun and the park where they were married had a canopy of trees so that nearly every shot had some faces in the dark and some in bright light. If I do any more weddings I'll really need to do a scouting mission ahead of time to find the best places to set up the shots. In any event, everyone was happy with the pictures so that's a relief. Here's one shot I got of my daughter.

If you're not living on the edge you're taking up too much room.

You did really well there Caz.
                Regards Paul.
One day I hope to be the person my dogs think I am.
