It was a foul day but I wanted to grab some snaps to try out various things with the new camera. I usually bin the test snaps but I kept this one 'cos I was fascinated by the fella's droopy-drawers fashion statement.

BTW - they're still crossing the carpark heading towards the beach (Camber Sands). It gets covered in sand and and massive sandy puddles. No point in clearing it this time of year as it gets covered again wihin a few hours.

Hi Pol, You brave foolish soul,
You must be keen to try your new hardware, yes the young-uns here are all walking around with the seat of their pants around the rear of their knees, I think it is really a rebellion against the big "IN-Fashion Fashion houses" but in rebelling they create their own "In Fashion" style, they want to be different but all end up looking the same.
How are you finding the new camera? from what I've read it seems to be promising a lot, and delivering.

      Oh dear!

I have never understood the 'show my pants' fashion.

Camber sands is superb, been there a few times, excellent for kite flying!

I don't think he was very comfortable 'cos he kept hitching his pants. I'd tried to catch him doing it, hence the slower shutter speed (1/30) but I kept missing the action and had to quit before they noticed me and bashed me on the nose or summick.

I wasn't too uncomfortable, Tinka. I had positioned myself on the inside step of the campervan and opened the door - so I could stay reasonably dry. It was very wild and windy with very heavy rain though - so not possible to hold things completely still as the 'van was being blasted by crosswinds.

I'm loving the new camera but not able to get out using it at the moment as the weather's just impossible!

Yeah Ben - it's a popular location for kite flyers, surfers, sand surfers etc. People also use the beach for horse riding in Winter but there were none yesterday - just the usual Beach Patrol Land Rover zooming about warning people of the dangers.

Not a lot of people about this time of year and in this sort of weather though. The forecast had been for bright intervals, though a tad windy. So the forecasters got it very wrong again!

It's not surprising really given the weighty look of his belt

It's not a lot of fun when the Chippy is closed and the wind is blasting the camper making it sway and feel might roll over any minute.

I'm showing this one as it's the only other one I'd kept - I'm showing it for Dennis as he's been asking. Exif is included in the gallery version. K10D with the Tamron 28-300, ISO 400 and handheld at 39mm, f/9.5, 1/60.

This one was also shot from the open door of the camper as it was too wet and windy to step outside. There'd be some movement from the swaying 'van too so I had the SR switch enabled (anti-shake).

....... and here's a resized version of the full frame of the 'Droopy' shot. Exif included in the Gallery version (Shutter priority at 1/30 - ISO 100) This one was shot at about 34mm iirc.

Sorry I haven't kept any examples from the K10D + Tamron 28-300 at 300mm as yet.
