Anne and I spent most of the morning searching for butterflies in our favourite meadow, where normally this time of year they are fairly plentiful. Due to the recent rains and the strong winds today they were well and truly hidden, apart from several dung flies feasting on cow parsley.
After a break for a Pizza we travelled to a new meadow where we learned we could get butterflies we hadn't taken before. Activity was poor until a brief glimpse of the sun late in the afternoon and two blues popped up from the long grass along with a moth or two.
I'm sure had the winds subsided the pix would have been a tad sharper.
