  • Low flying heron

Ann1e and I covered a great distance on foot today, although the car was not too far away due to the heavy showers promised by the Met Office - fortunately not a lot fell from the heavens, although the local area is desperate for rain.

The first pic is from the Panasonic TZ30.
    Bluebells

We got a brief glance of a Kingfisher with lunch - it was disturbed by eight cyclists in bright flourescent jackets - so we didn't get that close to it.

Orange Tip butterfly (male) feeding - my first. I have seen them about but never captured one.

Side view showing the green marbled underwings.

The last pic needed so much pping - it was a grab shot and apart from a few cables it contained a railway gantry supporting the electric lines.
    Low flying heron.

    Apart from the first - all taken with the Olympus E-5 coupled with the 50-200 lens - 1.4 converter attached - A. Mode - f.8 - iso 125ish - ev -0.7 etc

    Another pleasing day out.

I hope you enjoyed looking at them.

    Regards. Barr1e

I see you have been making the most of the photographic possibilities in your area as usual, Barr1e

        Thanks Ian -

It is so pleasing to get out with the camera almost each day and post some of the pics I take. Although I feel for many I need to hone the mind to alter course a little. I don't want boredom to creep in with the membership.

          Hi John -

          Thanks very much.

The bluebells are out, although the carpet where I took those is not quite full yet - a few more days and the location will be teeming with folk as it is a well known spot for the flowers. The area covers several acres.

I'm getting to grips with the the TZ30, although I do find it weak when using the panorama mode (smearing) and a few times it seems to lose the sky. It may be me of course. They have crammed much in the unit and perhaps when playing/learning with the various modes the camera will shine. So far 8.5 out of 10.

          Regards. Barr1e

Good job you weren't standing in front of it him or he might've spiked you with that beak.
