Some sort of dog. I think it looks a bit like a Pit Bull, though probably a soft natured one 'cos it has a softish mouth and a gentle sort of expression on its face.
The fingers would suggest a mythical creature even though its head strongly resembles a domestic dog. I suspect it was sculpted with the intention of being an humorous figure.
I prefer the 2nd version but maybe minus the two stray bits of masonary.
Whatever it is you photographed it very well.
