I just wish I'd had a better camera when my uncle was grass track racing (I only had a 126 at the time...)

Silly question perhaps, it seems looking at the lead car it doesn't have a screen fitted, is this so?

Not much point carrying a camera in one of those cars
With having no windscreen I guess the car would get pretty sluggish after a while due to the sand blowing in.

Hi Barr1e They don`t have any glass in at all, the cars are gutted down to a shell and only have the bare necessity's for racing, to avoid overheating several (like the one in the lead) have their radiators in the back window to aid cooling. You certainly come away nice and dirty if you participate. It is a contact sport so if you can get close enough to your opponents car they can be barged out the way!. Being on a beach the spectators get quite close to the action too (but not enough to get sand sprayed at you fortunately) Great fun to watch
