  • Some Of My Stuff

When I re-introduced myself yesterday Pops suggested I show some of my work, so I thought I'd start with my successful LRPS panel from last year as it shows a representation of what I like to take - mostly landscapes but some still life, sport, birds, etc. I must admit that two of these were taken on film, can anyone spot which ones?

    Something for everyone's taste here.
I think No8 is a perigrine falcon ... beautiful capture.

Thanks Pops. No 8 is actually a Kestrel, a common sight in the UK but an amazingly beautiful bird when you get close.

          Hi John -

So pleasing to see some of these again.

I just wished I had your vision when composing my images. Amazing to think that almost any object has a value to the eye - the construction helps.

Thanks for showing - more please.

          Regards. Barr1e

Excuse me John - I clearly recall you saying you were cr?p at still life when I saw you the other day. So how did you manage to produce number 2 then?

Congratulations John on getting your LRPS. What a wonderful set of images.

I think No 1 pushes all the buttons for me - can't really say why, as they are all beautiful.

I don't know which ones were taken with film though.

Hehe, sometimes I get inspiration for a still life but not very often. I found this bunch of seed pods whilst out walking and took it home to photograph on the lightbox I used to use for viewing slides. If I remember right I also used a little off-camera fill flash so it wasn't just backlit.

Thanks Audrey, Nos 6 & 10 were taken on film (medium format Velvia).

                    Yep, male Kestrel.

What a fantastic set of pictures. Difficult to find a favourite as you have covered so many different topics, but the last three get my vote

Goodness - glad I don't have to vote, although the tree in the mist and the beach are my favourites. All brilliant :-)
