Re: Been a while
Can you send some colourful birdies to my garden please? The only birds I have seen on the feeders recently have been pigeons and doves. Even the tits have deserted. On the ground I do see some dunnocks and blackbirds and we do have an occasional robin, but apart from our chooks, that's it bird-wise

Could be the nearby hedgerows that's keeping them away. Lots of insects around now for them.-------------------------

Maybe the cats are frightening them away?
Our neighbour has two (nasty bird-killer) cats that hide near the feeders and there's a marked reduction in visting birds of all species when they're about. One of them caught and killed a male Chaffinch a couple of days ago, the other has killed several Bluetits that we know about.
We have a water jet that's activated if cats go near but we can't use it atm as the connector is broken We won't be able to use it at all if there's a hosepipe ban.

Re: Been a while
I think Spring has finally arrived. I have seen great tits and a jackdaw on the feeders today. Also seen some coal tits in the front garden. I was at Julia's aunt yesterday lunch time and there were quite a few garden birds rushing around...
