Re: Show your Winter Scene
Whenever it snows, I know full well that I'm going to see dozens of snow shots as I travel around the photographic clubs... They will all be far superior to my efforts, taken by the hardy folk that venture out in it and get those perfect images that we all hate them for...
So I decided to stay in the warm and shot this through the double glazing of my room where I am sitting typing this...

Just To Be Different!
I live about 120 miles due south of Falmouth in Finistere and this picture is the perfect illustration of what a micro-climate can do.
Today we are the warmest place in Europe, sunshine, no snow, no rain, the only thing that shows that it is winter is the winter wheat in the foreground.
Fortunately the cutting east wind doesn't show!

Re: Show your Winter Scene
Hi Graham -
Thanks for posting your local scenes.
I took quite a number with Anne today but only judge two which just make the posting stage.

Snowman with Family a car and dustbins caused this 'arty' angle.

Skier Just setting off late in the day after cycling several miles with some mates earlier in the today.

Taken with Olympus E-5 + 12-60 lens etc (Skier with onboard flash)

This is a super pic Roger. One I know will make Anne say 'that's my style'.Originally posted by rogleale View PostJust To Be Different!

It is one I would have been pleased to take. Conditions there seem quite pleasing.
Thanks for showing.

Re: Show your Winter Scene
Although I did venture out yesterday (needs must - guests for the weekend needed to catch the 10am train) I didn't take any shots whilst out because I couldn't find anywhere safe to stop. I was too concerned with getting there and back - only 10 miles to the station, but after digging me out of my thankfully short driveway we then had 3 miles on untreated roads before hitting vaguely treated highway.
So mine are through the window too:

Still missing my 70-300 lens - perhaps I'll get something at Focus...carolannphotos.smugmug.com / webleedmusicmedia.com

Re: Show your Winter Scene
Slightly cheating as I am at work so not seen any snow this winter. A couple from last winter though, and just to continue the theme, also taken through the window :-)
Stupid dog!!

Back Garden

Also back garden

Hurry up woman the game has started!
Just because cliches are cliches does not make them wrong. I do like walking in the rain.

Nice to see you again. Glad you've managed to recall how to post pics too so keep 'em coming, eh.
The texture on the tree bark looks superb, very realistic.

Thanks Pol, nice to see you are still posting here. I don't do much these days, even these were taken through a window. Too old and too cold etc.Regards Ron. Live each day as if it was your last. One day you will be right. Down sized to Nikon s7000 compact camera.

Aye, I'm still a fixture round these parts. Cracking on a bit myself too and this perishing cold weather fair chills ya to the bones. Three bad years (weatherwise) in succession really does affect folks' energy levels, mobility, motivation etc. so don't worry about it, you're certainly not alone.Originally posted by Rodbender View PostThanks Pol, nice to see you are still posting here. I'm not able to be doing much myself atm either. I have yet another injury - heavily sprained right wrist this time. Don't even ask - but at least managed to lift and click the compact this morning.
Take care.
