  • 26 legs

Ann1e and I braved the cold winds and dullness over the past few days along the Grand Union Canal. Also I am suffering a swollen knee which hasn't helped much with the photography, possibly due to the non active wildlife. I think a rest day tomorrow is called for (best share the housework instead).

Just a few pix taken over the last few days. As always with the E-5 + 70-300 lens - hand held.

    Heron waits patiently for food.

    26 legs

Kingfisher heavily cropped - quite pleased with this one and I'm sure she would be too.

Little Grebe X 2 heavily cropped and some brambles removed with the aid of the clone and the spot healing tool. The one with the fish is not as sharp, but felt it worth posting.

...and now for something different whilst I took refuge from the cold for five minutes.
    St Peter's and St Paul's - Tring E-5 + 12-60 lens.

    Regards Barr1e

Another cracking kingfisher shot but the alsations having walkies is something else. Looks like they have already done a few miles.
The church interior looks good. Most would have framed this down the centre of the ailsle but I think this offset looks much better.

That first picci, the Heron, is a belter! So clear and sharp and you also have all of the bird in the shot.

I love the dog walk picture too. If I came across something like that I'd just have to stop them and get myself licked to death.

I thought there were only 22 legs but then I spotted the extra pair of ears

If I saw 26 legs heading in my direction I would do a rapid 180 turn and get out of the way pronto. Great capture Barr1e. The kingfisher is beautiful too. Some great walks you get over there

Thanks for the kind comments Pops, Pol, Ian and Mowgli.

I managed to get a few more shots in the can today, but the lack of sun hasn't done them justice.

I wished I had taken the first one shown in this link.
