Aaaaah sweet. Have you given them names yet?

They have very blue eyes from some angles. Are they really that blue or was it because of the lighting you used?

BTW I keep meaning to ask about the chooks too. D'ya still have those and are they still laying lots of eggs?

Yes the eyes are still blue although this is accentuated by the flash. I just used on-camera flash - no major technique in these shots; just snaps

I think the shorter haired one will be called Bella and the long haired one, Cindy.

Yes we have three chooks, and still have one of the originals (Sicily) who will have been with us for three years in May. Julia and I had home-laid eggs for breakfast this morning but I think only one is laying as we only get one egg a day at the moment.

Good names. We once had knew someone who had a cat called Dave. Every night she'd be heard calling him home shouting "Dave! Dave! Where's my kitty-kitty-puss-puss?" daft mare.

So that would be Bella (white patch on her neck) doing a her dainty tip-toe walk alongside the skirting board and Cindy stuffing her face after bashing the life out of the rolled-up newspaper.

Good old Sicily still hanging on in there enjoying life, bless her.

Re: We have some new kiitens!

We have had them here for just over 48 hours now and they seem to be settling in now. The don't hide all the time and spend much of the time either playing of sleeping. The rescue place we got them from insisted they had to be fed with Whiskas pouches but they haven't touched the stuff and are eating Hills Science Plan dry food. And they are using the litter tray - only one accident so far! Jemima (it 'was' her house ) is still not happy and hisses and growls at them, but hoepfully that attitude will abate.

Four days now and the kittens have really settled in. They are full of confidence and the fluffy one (Cindy) now likes climbing up onto the top of an armchair next to the fish tank to watch the fish. Bella, meanwhile, seems fascinated by our 18 year old cat, Jemima, even though Jemima makes it very plain that she doesn't like the attention (or actually the kittens being there at all!). I'm now trying to think of some ways get some interesting photos of the two...

I find the best way to grab entertaining pics of pets is to just sit and wait with the camera at the ready.

Hehe! Yes but these guys move real fast! Seriously, apart from the weekends, I only have an opportunity to photograph them under relatively dim artificial lighting so I have difficulty with focus. I have to use flash, too, although I am thinking of using two units, one to illuminate the background and avoid dark backdrops.

I visited my daughter's this afternoon to renew her anti virus for another year.

She has two Burmese (I think) one of which decided to embed its teeth in my hand as I was gently stroking it.

                        Regards. Barr1e
