1st Pics of the New Year

Since just before Xmas I have become quite lethargic in my photography and today realized I had not taken a single photo since the new year began!

So six days into it I finally forced myself to grab the camera and make the effort.

I had to settle for a mute swan on the local lake and Gabe the Chihuahua but at least I broke my dry spell.

I like the swan pix but this one stands out well for me. The dog looks in superb condition.

I like the pure white and light of the swan in the first pic, the clear, fresh water creating the wake by the swimming swan in the second.

Most of all I love the alert pose, bright eyes, dinky little nose and smart warm sweater in the last one.

Did Santa bring that nice sweater for Gabe? It suits him.

I love the impression of the swan powering through the water in the 2nd.
Its the dog for me though, alert and full of expectancy
