    Nice Ian but it must have been really bright as his eyes are closed.

      He was asleep - along with most of the others, many with their beaks tucked into their shoulders

          It's a lovely picture. I like seeing those swirls and details on the surface of the water as well seeing the duck.

              I like the first pic - first Pochard I have seen, so thanks for that.

              Presumably you were using the 70-300 lens on the E5 Ian?

                    And taken through the glass of the hide window as well - the open area was too cold

                    PS Not really a hide, but an elevated viewing area, but the wildfowl ignore it.
