  • Dark gigs...

I'm still doing a fair bit of gig photography, sometimes with more success than others! These are a few from last weekend.

Off again to get a few more tonight... same band, different venue and (hopefully) better lighting!

Was the first one posed? if not it was a great action capture.
The guy in the second would win any olympic smiling event

Thank you for your comments, Pops.

None of them are posed, although the band do know I'm there. The drummer knew that I'd just taken another shot of him, so paused (mid-song) and pointed his stick at me. He's done it before, it's just the first time I've managed to get a sharp capture of it! And that singer just pulls some amazing faces. He's a great hair-tosser, but haven't managed to get one that I'm happy with yet...

Just downloaded last night's shots, but still at Lightroom stage at present. I took 126, but will be happy if I keep 20.

Nice Caz, I've never tried that genre of photography but it looks like you did well under difficult conditions.
        Regards Paul.
One day I hope to be the person my dogs think I am.

They're fun - provided you have the right kit, i.e. reasonably fast glass or if the lighting's appalling (as it often is in pubs), an external flash with a portable soft box attached, and dial the flash right down to keep it natural instead of super bright.

A few from the last gig:
