...or lack of it. After seeing Ian's post about fireworks, I thought I'd share a few images from the Halloween Ball I was asked to shoot.

It started with a fire dancer:

After that, we went inside out of the cold to watch the bands, most of whom were in costume. I've either used diffused flash, or if the light was bright enough, tried to do without as I do prefer that kind of shot. The portrait was taken without flash.

If anyone's on facebook, there are lots more shots on there on my CarolAnn Photos page!

You can be proud of this selection Caz
I particularly like the the guy with the clowns face and the young lady at bottom right.
From your flickr selection the face of 4301 is awseome. Don't think I have ever seen eyes like that before.

Thanks for your comments Pops - I had great fun shooting them and thank goodness for investing in Lightroom, otherwise I'd never have processed almost 200 images in less than a week!

I did wonder about posting Zeb (the man with "the eyes") on here, but since you've mentioned it, this is he - in full halloween make up, including those freaky contact lenses:

I was actually asked to shoot the ball after I'd been to a charity day in September, held yearly in memory of a roadie of the headline band who got killed in a freak accident on his motorbike.

I've just received a comment from the drummer in the next shot - You are the one person in the history of the universe who has managed to take a picture of me without a stick/cymbal/cymbal stand in front of my face!
I had actually gone back stage (and did get several of him with a stick/cymbal stand, too)

            Re: Fighting the light

Thanks Pol, Ekkl and Garry for your kind comments.

As I said, I enjoyed taking them and appear to be getting a bit of a name locally for getting reasonable results at dark gigs!

I fancied a weekend off, so have spent the evening catching up on my holiday photos from September!
