  • Remembering Stephen

As many of you recall, Stephen Anstey, one of this sites biggest supporters and valued contributor and moderator almost from the very start, passed away at the end of May. I was able bring my family to visit Kathy, his wife, and sons James and Leo, yesterday at Kathy's home in Wakefield, Yorkshire.

Stephen and Kathy have visited our home quite a few times but this was my first time to visit their home. We were able have a good natter and reflect on Stephen's life and to enjoy piles of his superb photos that he had printed over the years.

Kathy also has a neat screen saver running a gallery of photos of Stephen from over the years and it was quite fun seeing Stephen as he was before I first knew him (which was almost ten years ago). But one of the photos that really amused me was this one taken in 2004:

This certainly helps me to remember Stephen in very happy times!

    Ian

PS If anyone was wondering, Stephen isn't the character on the right!

Lovely photograph that highlights Stephen's sense of humour.
That was a really nice heartfelt gesture to visit Kathy. I'm sure the visit meant a lot to her in confirming that Stephen was indeed a valued forum activist as well as a personal friend.

I normally avoid OTT sentiment, but Stephen was to me and many others a special person. It's hard to fill the void he has left here, for example, but with your help and the help of others we'll do as best we can!

Yo Yorkie! How lovely to see that sunny smile.

I still enjoy looking at Stephen's photos in his gallery. I drop in there regularly for a quiet browse and to reflect on Stephen's enormous contribution.

That's a good likeness of Tim too (on the right).
