  • Shanghai pano

The new Nikon V1 doesn't have a panorama assist feature, but that doesn't mean you can't make panos with this camera. Here is a four frame (landscape) panorama taken from the 35th floor of the Hyatt here in Shanghai:

The pano was stitched in Photoshop CS4.

Spectacular view. They certainly like 'tall' over there.
The viewpoint makes the left half looks like an island

That's a fabulous pano. A belter, so you must be sure to get yourself a good print from it when you get back.

I'm loving the urban night skies you're getting from that camera. The clouds are clearly seen and the colour seems to be spot on; very typical of a night sky over a well lit city.

... and before you ask, Barrie, I'm sure I'll be able to sleep ... if I could just escape a 'yakattack' visitor and get upstairs to bed.

I've now had another study of this panorama and it's truly very impressive. It's possible to count along the line of lights bordering the quaysides, every building can be differentiated and small boats can easily be picked out on the water. As I said previously, lots of realistic detail, colour and tones in the sky too.
