Take a picture today (1st January, 2007) and post it here

Here's one to start things going - maybe a sign of the times? Taken with a Nokia N95 camera phone just a few minutes after the new year dawned

    Now it's your turn

Free transport on buses, trams & trains on New Year's Eve in Melbourne meant the city was humming with millions of people & Fireworks venues extremely popular near Federation Square. Happy New Year to you & yours, one & all!

The first dawn of the first day of 2007 ... as seen from my bed. My usual morning view from bed actually.

        Bulb mode, 60sec exposure.

Took a walk along one of our local beaches this morning, a few people out wearing big coats, scarfs and hats etc. Walked down to the waters edge took a couple of pics of the rather rough sea, turned back up and saw these folk having what looked like a picnic? at the top of the beach. I asked them if they minded me taking their picture (thought theres one for the website!) to which the lady in the middle answered, you should have been here a quarter of an hour ago I have just been in for a swim!.
So here is my contribution to the new years day photos. I will call it "Warming up" I think she needed it

Hi Joecelyn, we're staying with friends for New Years down in Fleet, Hampshire, and the lady of the house has a sister living down your way in Melbourne

Happy New Year everyone - hope that the fried breakfasts and fresh air have chased away any lingering hangovers!

Took this at a local gliding club located on the Mendips this afternoon. All I can say is that these guys must be keen - it was freezing up there (and that was just at ground level!)

Here's my first time to share with the forum. I didn't include the shot where the olive missed the glass, although that might best typify 2006 for many.
