Lunch is being devoured in the last four images...

    A very nice set, Greytop.

Particularly like the close ups, and especially the second, where he is looking directly at you.

What lens where you using ? Sigma 150mm f2.8 ?
    Canon 7D 50D 400D Canon 300mm f4 L IS Canon 70 - 200 f2.8 L IS Sigma 150 - 500 f6.3 OS Sigma 50mm f1.4

You have some real belters there, great series!

I'm ignorant about these things. What is it eating, is it a piece of leaf?

Thanks for your comments Garry, yes you are spot on with the lens, it's one of my favourite pieces of glass

I'm pretty sure it's eating another insect, here is a closer crop of the second from last image.
You can see a leg and wings... not a pretty sight.

Thanks for the closer crop, which is so good!

So much detail, right down to the hairs on the leg of the insect about to be eaten.

Very impressive Huw with lots detail and vibrant colours.
The head on closeup certainly deserves a special mention,
