  • A Day In The Field

The little farming community around where I live in Bretagne held a ploughing contest recently, and many of the tools and tractors were vintage models, mostly just used in this kind of competition.

    Vintage Tractor

It ran on paraffin, and did actually start using lots of muscle and a bottle pf gas.

    Plough or Tractor

I don't know if you call this a "One man plough" or a "One wheel tractor"

    Friends"

Preferred to stay with his animals than to mix in!

In a tent off to one side I found a tent where a gent in his eighties had a display of models he had made. The scale of some was a bit erratic but the two below were very impressive. He made every bit himself, and was still assembling the Sunderland's brass parts when I arrived. The brass tank is superb.

    An interesting series Roger.
I like the image of the gentleman sitting with is animals, he looks happy there, the 'plough or tractor' is intriguing, it seems to be powered by an old motorcycle engine and gearbox.
The models of the Short Sunderland and Sherman tank look stunning, obviously a gentleman with great skill.
    Thanks for sharing these
