I think maybe my favourite is the picture of the Blue tit.

Nice pose and expression on the last shot, though they're all lovely shots.

Thanks Pol, here's another of the youngster.
I'm not sure which pose is most photogenic

They're both photogenic but I like this one best because it shows more character - a bit of attitude.

          I endorse Pol's comments exactly.
I see that you shot these in manual. Do you prefocus on a spot and wait?

Thanks again Pol, I think I agree

Thanks for the kind comment Pops.
Do you know I can't rightly remember what mode mode I was using when I shot these
I guess I should study the exif more, I suspect if I was in manual I would have been using auto ISO.
Focussing wise I mostly use single selected point and single focus AF mode. I roughly prefocus on the branch, then pick up on the subject when he or she arrives.

Here are a couple more from the same spot on another day.

              Re: Three birds, nothing exotic

You seem to have a varied variety of visitors.
(Pretty much 90% of my photography features garden birds.)
I do believe the ones you shot in manual are a tad sharper than the goldfinch and the robin but in all shots you have a very nice dof.
              Look forward to seeing more.

                Thanks Pops
I think the softness may be due to my inadequate PP technique
Here's another from that particular batch which seems a little better (same camera settings)...

Having recently become a member I didn't realise your main photography interest was birds.
I've explored your link and have to say you have some stunning captures there.

Mmm - back to the drawing board for me.

A very nice series - love the robin.

The last one (young goldfinch) is a beauty

I agree it's a beauty but I think it's a Greenfinch rather than a juvenile Goldfinch. Goldfinches, including juveniles, have different wing plumage; ie black with white patches on them.

                          Your quite right Pol.
I should have known from the short stumpy beak

Thanks again Pol and Pops for your generous comments
I must admit I had also thought it was a juvenile Green Finch purely from checking a few wildlife web pages when I first took the shots.
