Thanks for looking
Nice pose and expression on the last shot, though they're all lovely shots.

I'm not sure which pose is most photogenic

I see that you shot these in manual. Do you prefocus on a spot and wait?
Do you know I can't rightly remember what mode mode I was using when I shot these
I guess I should study the exif more, I suspect if I was in manual I would have been using auto ISO.
Focussing wise I mostly use single selected point and single focus AF mode. I roughly prefocus on the branch, then pick up on the subject when he or she arrives.
Here are a couple more from the same spot on another day.

Re: Three birds, nothing exotic
You seem to have a varied variety of visitors.
(Pretty much 90% of my photography features garden birds.)
I do believe the ones you shot in manual are a tad sharper than the goldfinch and the robin but in all shots you have a very nice dof.
Look forward to seeing more.-------------------------

Re: Three birds, nothing exotic
Thanks Pops
I think the softness may be due to my inadequate PP technique
Here's another from that particular batch which seems a little better (same camera settings)...
Having recently become a member I didn't realise your main photography interest was birds.
I've explored your link and have to say you have some stunning captures there.Regards Huw

Originally posted by Pol View PostI agree it's a beauty but I think it's a Greenfinch rather than a juvenile Goldfinch. Goldfinches, including juveniles, have different wing plumage; ie black with white patches on them.

Re: Three birds, nothing exotic
Thanks again Pol and Pops for your generous comments
I must admit I had also thought it was a juvenile Green Finch purely from checking a few wildlife web pages when I first took the shots.Regards Huw
