Wow - what happened here? Did you just happen to be passing or were you nearby? Any idea how the fire was started?

      Re: Fire in the suburbs

I was woken by my barking dogs, told my wife to lean out the window and shout at the trespasse that he had 5 minutes before I let the dogs out. Then there was more noise, decided to investigate and as I opened thre door I heard a loud shouting. FIRE FIRE. I got my ass up on the road, made sure the neighbours and kids werent in the house, and then fetched the camera. The scene is directly over the road.

We suspect that a firework landed on the boat during the afternoon and smouldered long enough to start the fire at about 12.50 am. All the drama was over by 2 am.

The pickup was 4 weeks old, The boat about 6 months. The owners Eric and Karen and Kids had no ill effects other than shock. In fact he was joking about barbecues the next day. The kids were somewhat traumatised including my own who slept badly for a few nights. Oh andd the house itself smells like smoke inside. Not a pleasant experience. I got more pics the next day and a few more of the night if anybody is interested.

The only thing missing from the first shot is the water leaving the hose.
That is so real I can feel the heat
