  • Gondole & Piazza San Marco

    Dear All,

final few from Venice for now.

The first is a washed effect applied to a gondola.

The last two are of Piazza San Marco at night.

There are a few more here. http://www.pbase.com/joshbear/venice

    Best Regards

    Josh

Re: Gondole & Piazza San Marco

Thanks for sharing these Josh, I really like the desaturated effect you achieved with the gondolier. It's perfect for such a setting. Once again I prefer the colour version of the evening scene - the blue in the sky is especially effective.

I haven't had much opportunity to work on more of my shots but hope to during the week.

I have since discovered that Stephen's brother, Peter, and his wife were in Venice at the same time as us - and a couple of people from one of our other forums! It's such a small world these days

Spent a lovely time with Stephen, Andrew Thatcher and Mal (andJulia and Kathy) based in Keswick about three years ago. The weather wasn't too kind to us, but we did get some breaks and Andrew, in particular, had some stunners.

I hope to be going to Skye for the first time around this time next month for a meet with the Olympus UK E-System Group members.

            Nice. Seriously lovely location.

Last time I was in Skye was during the days when 'over the sea' in a boat was the only way to get there (and I was seasick on the boat/ferry as usual).
