  • Chiesa Di Santa at night

    Dear All,

Three versions of the Chiesa Di Santa in Venice at night. I am torn between the B&W and the sepia, although that last blue in the evening sky is attractive. Nope just can't choose.

Take with a canon 5D mark 2 using a 24 to 105L lens. The stability was provided by a gorilla pod which fitted nicely into my hand luggage.

    Hope you enjoy.

    Best Regards

    Josh

    Interesting.

I am a fan of colour, but in this case the sepia works so well. It seems to show much more detail than the b+w and colour shots.

So my favourite of the three is sepia.

    Nice shot.

Thanks Barrie. The sepia one has been printed a3 and is going on the wall. Just seems to work so well.

Think I prefer the colour version Josh. A Lovely shot and I'd definitely have it it on my wall.

Thanks Stephen. Very pleased with both the picture and the small amount of post processing I did.

          Best regards

Love what you have done to these Josh and all 3 give a different feel to the shot.
I think Im with you and can't choose a fav.
The sepia does seem to give alot more detail on the building, did you do anything extra to this shot that you did not to the others? Might just be the extra contrast.
            Great shot well executed.

I like the colour shot a lot. That gorilla cam is a good thing by the looks of it!

                Hi

Been back and had a look at the history of what I did and apart from the conversion can't see a difference. Now have the sepia and the colour on the wall.

Re the camera. Yes I have enjoyed the canon. Not sure canon is any better than nikon though. Just different from each other.

                Best regards

Hi Josh, my marginal preference is the colour version - great sky to complement the detail of the building, but both monos are very nice.

You have definitely made me realise that when we left Venice to return to the hotel each evening before sun down we missed a whole different dimension to Venice!
