    Yes, I use a daylight balanced FL lamp for viewing prints.

      When I go out to clubs to judge competitions, the setup used to illuminate prints, vary from sophisticated stands with multi axis Osram Dulux L (90RA) Lamps, to old slide projectors, that as well as being the wrong colour temperature also project dust spots onto the prints

      However, I'm often surprised at how good the brain is at working out what the colours should look like, under a wide range of lighting conditions

      I have 5400K CFLs in my room where I work at home and sometimes will check the printer with a calibration image, but for the vast majority of my work and the very few pictures that will end up on the wall, these will be lit by normal domestic lights.

      Interesting how discussions on this forum change subject.
