  • No fishing from the bridge

I had family in town last week and tried to show them the wonders of Colorado. One of the places we went was the Royal gorge and it's bridge.

I love to shoot bridges with my 8mm FE and play with the distortion. I was happily doing so until someone pointed out the sign on the far end of the bridge. After that, I put the 8mm away and shot perfectly boring pictures with my 12-60.

Here is what I got away with.

    back to the 12-60

I don't know what they use for bait that far up but I hear tell they toss a guy off on a bungy cord every so often. You know what they say, The bigger the bait, the bigger the fish.

Those 8mm pics are great fun. I especially like the second one. I like the composition, the way you framed it.

So - what sort of fish do they catch from up there - with or without the fella dangling (or bouncing) on the bungee thingy?

Thank you Pol. I enjoy the FE for its distortion. I have a 7-14 and 11-22 for normal wide shooting.

I'm not sure the river is a gold metal river or not, if it is, there are only native species of trout. ( brown, brook etc) Otherwise there is a mix of native and stocked rainbows.
