18th Century Interior

Taken today at Nostel Priory in Wakefield.
I beleive its only this year they have allowed photography with no flash.
I really enjoyed being in this tapestry room and being very busy I had to be patient to get this shot.
Would have liked to have used my tripod but this was asking alot, and allsorts of h&s issues come into play when you are in a public place

A very nice interior shot.

It is most pleasing photography has been allowed. It will certainly raise the hits for NT sites.

Excellent interior shot Ash. Don't know if the property you visited was National Trust, but they started to allow interior shots from last year - although it does vary from property to property and also depends upon whether they're showing an exterior collection. I nearly fell foul of that one last year at Waddesdon. However, none of them allow [1] flash or [2] tripod. Doesn't bother me - it's just great to be able to take pictures inside!

Looks like something you would see in a glossy mag or book!

I see from the exif that the lens was 10mm Is this the Sigma 10 - 20mm that you acquired recently?

Thanks for the comments, and the info Caz, I did not realise it was for all National Trust Houses and sites, we have only just joined as members as I thought it was very good value for money and it gets us out and about with the kids, the fact that I can take pictures is a real bonus!
It is the 10-20 sigma Garry and other than interior shots at home not really used it much untill this outing, Im looking forward to trying out landscapes with it.
Its not cheap but registering it for the 3 year warrenty with sigma gives a bit more peice of mind.

I have had this lens for over a year, and not given it, it's full attention, having only used it for, landscapes and cruise ships.

But looking at your photos. I am going to start using it!

I really want a 10-20 , but first have to replace my telephoto (the standard Tamron 70-200mm) as I've promised it to my son as it came with the 400d. Not sure it's safe for me to go to Focus at the moment (unless I leave all my cards at home and only take cash for the day!

Another lovely image Ash - I have found that some of the houses are kept so dark that even a f1.8 50mm lens can't cope, but can't afford the faster glass at the moment. Anglesey Abbey was a real culprit for being dark - but the stuff inside was stupendous.

Really sorry I did not manage to meet you Caz, for the first time on visiting focus in the past 5 years I actually had purpose and a list of things I needed to do, rather than just go for the fun of it! I hope you had a good day.
I felt it was very busy early on, unlike other years and Im thinking maybe next year its worth going midweek.
Usually I come home with a load of junk freebies I don't need or ever use, this time I come home with some half decent images I can actually use.

No probs Ash. It did get extremely busy between 12 and 2, but then seemed to quieten down after 4. And as for freebies - take my word for it, there weren't many about this year.
