  • A tiny village I often visit - part 1

Here are some pix which were taken around two weeks ago when I went to a tiny village, one of the places I often visit. Usually for testing purposes.

On this day I planned to take some test shots of a new filter adapter that I bought from Amazon for my compact G11 so that I can use a PL filter on it.
I anticipated that I needed to reduce the possible reflections on the window.

Although I did bring the adapter with me but I only found there that I did not take even a single piece of filter.
So you might find a reflection of me and others everywhere, although I tried to reduce the reflections by pp on some of them.

This village is said that it keeps the atmosphere of the 2nd half of the 19th century --- the time when Japan opened itself to other nations.

There are 12 of them. (sorry maybe too many)
Hope you enjoy the short tour.

    ****************

#1. started from this point as I can park my car near here

#2. on the way to the village, some small stone statues are looking up .... depending on the season, either cherry blossomes or acer leaves.

#3. lunch time but nobody. The same applies to all other restaurants, I guess. All streets are virtually empty. A quiet town with aged people where the time is passing slowly and quietly.

#4&5. around this time of the year, we have a doll festival for female children and they exhibit this type of dolls, big and small.

#6. a narrow street going up ... so I did not walk here
