Good guess with the nikon, but unfortunately I can't afford the 70-200vr, its a 80-200 afd
picked it up for a song on ebay
I am however having a few focussing issues with my d90, sometimes its on and sometimes its slightly off, however when its on, it really is on as in this duck picture and is one of the sharpest along with 50mm 1.4 and 28-70 which I no longer have. Since the d90 has no compensation for front/back focussing I can only record and monitor its performance, not alter it.
The front element does however seem loose so a trip to nikon service it may have to be.
