  • A couple of birds...

    ...from yesterday.

    Egret fishing in the shallows

Resting after eating a largish fish

    Heron feeling the cold wind.

I found taking pix of the Egret quite challenging - I took over a hundred shots with few keepers. The bird is constantly moving the mud trying to tease the fish out.

    E-5 + 70-300 lens couple to the 1.4 converter.

Well done Barr1e, the Egret is a particularly difficult bird to photograph, Highly reflective plumage and little contrast within it. You have managed to retain detail without blowing the highlights. Something that is difficult to achieve, particularly in bright sunshine. May I suggest that you lift the background by adding fill-light a little. This should improve the detail in the shadows.
    Kind regards
