  • Hand-held - Night shoot at ISO 6400 and 3200

Here are three test shots, all hand-held, at ISO 6400 and ISO 3200.
A difficult shoot with extremely bright and dark subjects in the frame. Dynamic range and noise being pretty well tested. At these ISOs I expected image softening for both ISO and slowish shutter speed. There is no way that my E3 would have produced these images.

I did have my flash fitted but I was interested in the sort of the result the camera produced without the benefit of the flash.

    Comments welcome as usual.
    Kind regards

Oooh I love Kebabs . There's nowt I like better than a Chicken Shish and chips down at the beach on the marshes. I always make sure Gilbert gets a few chips too of course.

I love your pictures. The detail is superb, even in the smaller files. Just look at the clarity on the drinks cans - no problems there! Good dynamic range too. I'm certainly no pixel peeper but I can't see any problem with the noise either.

    OMG - I want a Kebab!

Thanks Pol. There are quite a few 'Gilberts' hanging about, even at night! They congregate on the lamp posts waiting for someone to be careless with their food.

I am particularly pleased with my purchase of this camera. The results are great and add to this internal IS and weatherproofing, its a great tool.
      Kind regards

I can see why you're very pleased with the camera. You're getting some great results from it! My Pentax K20D also has internal IS and weatherproofing, as do their latest lenses. It makes a difference when you don't have to be quite so worried about the kit.

Yep - Gilbert and his mates tend to hang about in the Camber Sands car parks too. Ne'er a chip goes to waste, even the ones that people put in the litter bins. The Gulls are very adept at dragging stuff out. They sometimes wait on the bonnets and roofs of the cars watching people inside they eat - then they follow them to the litter bins when thy dispose of the wrappers.
