...but the performance of the E-5 helped out.
We left in light drizzle to see if we could get some closer pictures of the kingfisher. Just as we spotted it landing a dog and its owner rounded the corner. Did you spot the blue bird? she asked as the bird took flight. We followed it further up the canal only for another dog and its owner in vivid red to appear. No time for proper focus - fired off a couple of shots and did not do too well.
Off for an early lunch and then leaving Anne at the hairdressers, I spent some three hours in the odd rain showers and getting colder by the minute. No show. However, I think we had a good time over the past few days with the odd sighting and enjoyed her company very much.
There was other wild life wanting to perform for the camera and I'm pleased to show an assortment of it.
Not quite wild life -
Canal boat on bend

Empty lock

Now for the birds.
Gull

Mother Duck

Kingfisher rear

Spot the Kingfisher - this shows how small she is.

Most were taken using the 70-300, the remainder with the 50-200 coupled with the 1.4 converter. All A. mode with various settings and taken in j.peg only.
