  • Strange Midday Lighting

As well as being the first time this year that the lake in front of my house has frozen over, the light was VERY strange for midday, looking more like the late evening light. It only lasted for a few minutes, but was so strange it caught my attention.

The morning mist refused to budge here - probably because we are in the bottom of a valley and the canal and river Gade flow down it.

That really does look like golden evening light, but it can happen that way this time of year. A couple of years ago I was working in Northampton and used to go down to one of the lakes surrounding the town in my lunch hour. One day there was a storm approaching, and the light was almost green. Mother Nature can be weird......
