Oh wow! back on form I see - excellent captures, beautiful colours.

I see a jay 2 or 3 times a week, but since it's in open countryside and on my way to work don't have time to sit and wait in my car.

I'm lucky Caz. Have a pair what will stay now until late next spring. They will bring their young ones into the garden for a while then off they go.

Lucky is right! The most "unusual" thing that pops into my garden at the moment is the occasional pheasant!

Can't compete with those - he always seems to pick late evening or dismal weather to pop in.

              - this lot were searching for food that had dropped from the feeders.

              Mind you, there's always:

Thoroughly enjoyable wedding supper served at the Middle Temple earlier this year!

Sorry, I can never get images to display from my flickr page, so have put the links. What am I doing wrong someone please?

Edited again - didn't realise flickr had so many darn ways of picking up the url...

Never used flickr Caz but I suspect you are selecting the wrong hyperlink.
You need the one with IMG tags around it.

Oh and you are not having my pheasant served on a plate no matter what the occasion.

I just hope there are no peanut allergies in the Jay household!

We get the occasional Jay, and ducks occasionally explore our garden, and once in a blue moon we'll even see a greater spotted woodpecker on the feeder, but most of the time we have to be content, in terms of the bigger birds, with our (now 5) rescue hens

Interestingly, when the hens are out in the garden, down come several wood pigeons who seem to think the hens are on to a good thing that should be shared!

Don't knock this shot caz. A full pheasant shot plus a dove and what looks like a jackdaw all in the same shot.
