  • A couple from Hermitage Stream, Langstone Harbour.

Sorry I have not posted too much lately but I have been distracted by work on my site.

Here are a couple of images taken yesterday.

This Herring Gull Juvenile is moulting and looks quite scruffy as a result.

Every autumn, these Little Grebe re-appear in the Hermitage Stream and will stay until spring. So far this year we have 15 birds in the Hermitage Stream estuary.
    Kind regards

    Hi

The first shot I like very much although its a shame the feet are cut off.

I agree with Patrick about the first one.

It's a beauty as well as a 'cutie'. I love seeing those remaining downy feathers. They kinda compensate for missing the feet.

I agree with you Patrick. I would not normally be so sloppy. I usually spend far more time over composition.
The only excuse I can give is that I have just received my Olympus E5 and I have been distracted and posted the wrong image.

I agree with both of you Pol. See above.

Here is one that has all its parts. It was a little further up the entrance to the Hermitage Stream.

That's truly a beauty, a stunner, especially when viewing the larger image.

          The bokeh is superb too.

            Thank you Pol
I shall be out and about with the E5 today to take some test shots. I know it's raining but Olympus say the camera and lens are weatherproof - guess I shall have to test their claim! I am not that worried, the E3 I have certainly is
            Kind regards
