Kylie and Sicily now have three new friends to keep them company since we lost Chickey and Rosie. We picked them up from last Sunday. It hasn't been the best weather for their first week with us, but at least it's pleasant enough this afternoon.
They do have names but to be honest we're not sure who is who just yet! These are the first pictures we've taken of them. You will notice that Kylie and Sicily are nowhere to be seen. This is because one of the newbies is already vying for top chook - blood has been spilled (Sicily has a slightly injured comb). But that's they way chooks are and there will be the inevitable pecking order nonsense for a few days yet. So far the newbies seem to have the upper hand although I haven't seen any fighting today.
The newbies are much more cautious and timid of us than our original four. They still don't realise that we are a food source
I'm sure that will change. If I recall, cooked spaghetti pasta was the turning point - must boil some up asap!

They do walk in a funny way which the others didn't - one leg is lifted very high, so they stand on one leg for a few moments than make another step. Although they can run quite effectively
And we have to shoo them out of the run to get them in garden...
