But first a Nuthatch...lucky to spot this while having a cuppa in the middle of the country park. I was the only one sitting outside otherwise I doubt if he would have come down.

Lovely images Pops. I particularly like the Nuthatch. Did you tempt it down with food on the post? Would not work for me of course as I usually have a big aslation with me

Talking of seagulls and my alsation, the seagulls taunt my dog by landing close to him and taking off as he rushes up, only to land a few feet away. They have even encouraged him to swim for 30-40mins whilst chasing them. Keeps him fit I guess so perhaps I should thank them.
    Kind regards

Nice picci of the Nuthatch. I got all excited for you when I saw the Nuthatch pic because I seem to remember you once mentioning you didn't get them in your garden ... then it turns out it was in a park. Do you ever get them coming into the garden now? We have quite a lot of them coming - always fascinating to watch the way they move.

Gilbert looks splendid too, as usual.

Unlikely I'll ever see a nuthatch in my garden! So I'mvery envious of this shot (in a nice way!).

Your gulls look very puffed up - as if to say winter has arrived

Peter .... I didn't tempt it down. The tea room staff supply a feeding table with scraps and apart from the small tits this nuthatch appeared out of a nearby bush. Incidently I always have Suzie (westie) with me and she gets along just fine with all of the birds.

Pol ... not had one yet in the garden. Can but keep hoping.

I think those are Blackheaded Gulls with their Winter plumage - so they are indeed wrapped up for Winter.

Don't give up hope of seeing a Nuthatch in the garden. The first time I saw one it looked a bit like an eel slithering up, down and around one of the the peanut feeders. That was maybe 4-5 years ago and they've been coming ever since.

They also like it when we leave a few peanuts in hollows of trees, places where branches have rotted off or been pruned.
