    A fabulous set, Bear
All pin sharp. Good skin tones and textures.
    Pretty looking singer.
If I had to pick a favourite. It would be the guitarist, in mono.

What makes these great pictures for me is the bokeh. I would guess you have used a long lens. Which has thrown the background well out of focus. My eye is focussed on the subject, and as Garry said the tones are great, almost Canon like I would suggest

        Re: More Flamenco

Excellent set. Some real passion showing from the singer, especially on the second and third pics. I also like her gear (clothing, jewellery, hair).

Nice picture of the guitarist too. His apparent relaxed pose doesn't have quite the same impact as the singer's though I suspect he was probably more 'fiery' in performance.

Just out of interest - do you have a video of their performance online?

          Re: More Flamenco

Thank you everyone for commenting. Stephen, these were all shot on my Nikon D3s using the Nikkor 70-200 wide open f2.8, at various focal lengths but mostly around 150mm. I confess the tones are mostly due to post-processing. The lighting for the performance was pretty dire and mostly produced a rather flat yellow'ish tone akin to streetlighting. Pol, sorry, this was one performance that wasn't video'd by us. There are many other flamenco performances that we did video and these can be found on YouTube is you search for the user name casatyr.

Really nice set Bear. I like the 2nd picture a lot.

What was the shutter speed on this 2nd one?

                Thanks. Got the Famenco 2009.

I must admit I enjoyed yours and Fitz's performance better.

                      Re: More Flamenco

Wonderful series Bear. Reminds me of a club in the backstreets of Bario Santa Cruz in Sevilla (Are there any streets there that aren't backstreets?) that Amanda found the last time we were there. Not a place that tourists would find, but a lot of locals having a really good time.

                        Jeff

Sevilla in general and especially the barrio of Tres Mil, is the spiritual home of traditional flamenco. It really is a city of backstreets once you get inside the ring road and an incredible place. I am glad to be able to evoke some memories for you.
