    Any old excuse will do

The first is an unusual setup, to be honest it took a while for me to spot the focused bit.

The 2nd isn't a sign you see every day then again they might not be able to spell that nowadays

Some promising experimentation, Mike and I like the warm tone desaturated look. Lost highlights on the signpost my only niggle.

I keep looking at the first photo, Mike
I couldn't make my mind up, about it.
I like the idea, and the focused items, are pin sharp. But i feel the the OOF foreground, is just a little overpowering. Sorry!

I like the mono treatment on both.

Maybe because Mike has not posted for a while he thought he would break in easy and not post in the critique section thus avoiding the flood of nit pickers
Only kidding guy's who am I to judge
A good couple of shots Mike and some that I would have certainly shot if Ide have been there, experimenting and out of the ordinary!
Mike did you take the first shot with the foreground in focus? Im just interested at the result thats all.

              Hi all,
The Dof was intended but maybe not as strong as this
Unfortunately the highlights on the post got the better of me, dont you just hate the sunshine
              cheers for the feedback

                Late again, I know.....

but just wanted to say that I really like these two images (highlights and all on the signpost - great spot) but my favourite is the first one. The DOF intrigued me, unusual perspective and I think it works, imho.
