      Thanks very much John.

The Olympus 70-300 lens is superb and such good value for money.

I get as much satisfaction when using the Olympus 50-200 coupled with the 1.4 converter.

Re: Out in the field pix

        Hi Barr1e
A great series of well composed images of a great variety of insects. It is getting a bit late in the season but there is still plenty around. A couple of days ago, I photographed a Brimstone butterfly with its wings open - unfortunately, the underside only was visible from the position it was in grrrrr!
I see you have really mastered the 70-300 lens. Something I was never able to do.
        Thanks for sharing your images.
        Kind regards

Re: Out in the field pix

Nice images Barr1e. I tried to photograph a ladybird on my working top that I brought in with one of my lettuces the other day. It wouldn't keep still.

I seem to be seeing a plethora of wildlife just lately as we had a lecture on a nature reserve nr Doncaster last night. Excellent photographer - Allan Parker.

Thanks for sharing I do like to see this type of image and must have a serious go at trying to record some wildlife.

Lovely set Barrie, and thanks for sharing. I like the 3rd (having hastily skipped over that spider!)

Re: Out in the field pix

Peter, Autumn and Caz, I am pleased you liked them.

I think the last couple of days have dealt a blow to those still flying Peter. Although when you look at the poor conditions of some, they must be pretty hardy.

Thanks for the link Autumn - great site.

Caz - my daughter doesn't care for them either.

              Regards. Barr1e
