  • Darner's, Towers and Sex

Anne and I were taking advantage of the morning before the forecast rain hit us. (Fortunately just a light shower.)

We returned to the pastures where we had previous success with butterflies. We did spread (pun) our wings a little further with an added bonus or two.

Common Green Darner with inquisitive fly.

Fly being Brave not sure if the dragonfly made a meal of it.

    Another with different colouring

Mentmore Towers about a mile away.

    Common Blue (Copulation...)

    ...and another

            Oh wow thanks Pops.

It's pleasing to take pix of the butterflies, Anne and I found the blues and whites more skittish than last year. It meant sitting on thorns etc and waiting for them to come to you.
To get just five or six keepers out of a couple hundred shots and about four hours in the pasture makes it worthwhile.
