  • Heptonstall church

We had a drive out to Heptonstall near Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire yesterday. Its only the second time I've ever been and thankfully it was quiet and I was able to get some shots round the old church.

These were taken with my Canon 5DMk2 and processed in LR3 and the colour ones in Topaz Adjust

I like the last one the best. That b/w really adds mood to the picture.

I concur. All very nice though. And fortunate that you had the place to yourself.

And make that 4 about picture 3. Can I ask about the processing in number 1 please, it looks like subtle HDR?

Thanks for commenting everyone, much appreciated. The B/W shot I felt needed a bit of mood injecting into it and using Lightroom3 I selectively lightened or added contrast where I felt it was needed until I was happy. Tones were also altered using the various colour sliders in the B/W tool panel.

As for the first shot Josh, I ran this through a plugin filter I have called Topaz Adjust, there are lots of presets which you can customise yourself. I used one called Photo Pop and tweaked it until I got what I wanted. Interestingly there is a preset that'll produce an HDR effect in varying degrees, but I didn't use it for this one. I can certainly recommend you give it a go

                  A very nice series Stephen.

The image above reminds me of 'when I were a lad'.
