had a shoot with Kat yesterday

I did another one of my face book group shoots yesterday with Kat. These are all done for free as it gets me out there with the camera and out from under the wifes feet lol. Well this one did cost me more then normal. I always buy a coffee or some sort of drink for the person "soft drinks only" as it is only fair they are giving up their free time to help me out. Well this one also cost me a light stand. It blew over and snapped one of the legs clean off .Could have been worse I know it could have been the flash that was damaged. Any way I think it was well worth it.

Nice series. No. 1 for me.

If you had cloned one or two of the stray hairs and the flower not been so intrusive this would have been one of those shots that would have wowed me.

Having said that it's a super pose from an attractive lady and a very nice image.

I may well go back and clone out the ones in the middle of her fore head. It was just one of those shots that was calling out to be done in the gardens.

I am never sure if my b/w ones are right or not really do struggle with them but I do like to try the odd one or two. There are a few more b/w ones on my flickr

The B&W especially seems to accentuate the model's skin defects. Have you tried using a filter to remove them, Nik Software's Dynamic Skin Softener works very well and the effect is very controllable and not extreme. CAn be very effective.

They are all good Peter, but I especially like the 4th one.

With regard to the model's skin on the mono image, have you tried using the adjustment brush in Lightroom over these areas and then reducing the clarity, this has the effect of just softening the image.

Give it a try. It is in Scott Kelby's Lightroom 2 book for digital photographers.

Yes, I know they are a bit difficult, however, you could still try reducing the clarity, just a touch, without selecting anything. Ofcourse, it would be an overall reduction, but you would be able to see the effect on Kat's face. Good Luck.

Thanks I will give it a go tomorrow and see how I get on. I tried the brushes out again just before really do not like them I guess that is more to me using them the wrong way. I really will read up on them. Thankfully kat as seen these and is happy with them which is a good thing
