Another spider, this one caught lurking in the lavender. Don't know exactly which type but looks to be a variety of tarantula, about 3 inches from leg tip too leg tip. Will bite but not too harmful !

Do your dogs bother them or are they interested in other animals?

Barrie, I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to these things but I think she is getting ready to dispense her young. I think this is a variety of spider that travels with the egg sac on its back. The dogs don't really bother them; I don't think the dogs really norice them. This time of year they are too busy chasing lizards and snakes !Comment
