Re: Greenwich, St Pauls and Green Park

Some good advice about the hotel and parking, could have done with that last year
Nice to see a series of shots in one post, it gives us an idea of your trip.

There is some interesting focusing going on in some of the shots, Im not sure for the better, were you trying out a new filter or something?
Also were these with the ep2 or the canon?

    thanks for sharing

Re: Greenwich, St Pauls and Green Park

        Hi both

The effect is very like a lens baby but actually is the diorama filter in the ep2

There are so many pictures of st pauls etc and I wanted to find a way of adding emphasis to certain elements. With that said I think it works best when there is a specific thing in the middle of the focus point. So not all of this pictures work.

        Thanks for the comments

Re: Greenwich, St Pauls and Green Park

          Thought it was my eyes!

No 1. Nice shot of St Paul's, but sorry, I just don't like the treatment. For my taste, the dark areas under the bridge and the boat are too dark and saturated and blurred. St Paul's is the only object I like. I think I must be a boring straight photographer. I don't go for the blurred backgrounds very often. Perhaps on a bird photo or some portraits.

No2. Looks too light top right.

No 3. Same as No.1. Only the dome in focus and dark areas too dark and out of focus or just blurred.

Sorry, I'm not going to carry on. I've just realised you did not put them up for critique.

I like the variety of the pics and particularly the last one.

It's obviously a treatment you are trying and congrats for doing it. I often feel as though I am in a rut. Probably I should give it a try.
