Staying with some friends over the weekend and visited Martin Mere one of the Wildfowl & Wetlands trust properties. So took my 100-400 lens along as this was the ideal opportunity to get some shots of the birds etc. They have an enclosure containing a family of Asian Otters, beautiful and charming creatures. Here is just one, hope to get more pictures put up later.
Thanks for the comments everyone, much appreciated.
Here is another shot taken with the 100-400 lens at 400mm. This is the full frame processed in Lightroom. A Greater Flamingo, dontcha just wish you could sometimes do that with your neck
Some super shots there Stephen!
Looks like you had a succesfull day.
I adore the mono shot of the otter, and the colours on the Greater Flamingo are terrific.

I thought you might like some of these Ben. Martin Mere is to be recommended as a day out, frankly I was surprised, there were lots of great opportunities for photography.
Cracking shots Stephen! You say not your usual subject matter, maybe you should do more as you capture wildlife so well with that lens of yours! I prefer the contrasty B&W of the otter! I dig the psychedelic legs on the flamingo! (upper part of legs!) The colours of flamingo are fantastic!
Love the second otter picture, composition and sharpness are superb. The 100-400 lens is a cracker. Always wanted one but can never seem to make the final purchase decision.
