  • Jade on the beach and in the sand dunes

Ok so I have really struggled with some people of late ie point the camera at them and they freeze like a deer in the head lights. Well I have been speaking to Jade over the last week or so and she really wanted to do a shoot and seemed like she knew what she wanted. Well the moment the camera was on her she was away from pose to pose. I feel like I had hit the jackpot. She is also very keen on other ideas I have for a few shoots so you may well see more of her. I really like the first one and have loads more on my flickr site if anybody wants to look.

When you work with a model who knows what needs to be done and will move to a different position everytime you take a shot, instead of having to be told, it becomes a real joy to work with them and you get your best shots. These look good to me Peter. Hope you have a few smiley ones though and some with eye contact. I wonder too if she would benefit from makeup?

      Hi Stephen

She was a real joy to work with and so was her mate who came along and held the reflectors. I just about had the camera up to my eye and she had done about 10 poses. I was like slow down . I will be doing more with her for sure so will get some smiles out of her in future. I am not sure what you mean about the make as I know she had some on as she was putting it on in the car. Did you mean i should have done some work in CS. If I had done some real tight face shots I would have but felt these did not really need it. Maybe I am wrong . Any way here are 4 more. 1 with a smile and 3 with good eye contact Oh and these are all natural light. No flash at all it was never on the camera that evening.

I am enjoying the first and third shots the best. The first for its simplicity and lovely light and the third for the way her eyes are aware and are almost absentmindedly looking at the camera, if you know what I mean.
Oops some more have just come in as I type but the two I mentioned are still my favourites.

Some really lovely shots Peter. I particularly like the first one in the first set. It has a great almost wistful quality and it eally shows the model to her best advantage. The second one of the first set is almost great but I would have preferred it with a softer light and perhaps underexposed a little, there is great emotion there that might suit moodier lighting. B&W might work. All round a very good set.

Re: Jade on the beach and in the sand dunes

A lovely set Peter. The first one being my favourite with the beautiful evening lighting.

I really like all the rest except for No3. I don't like the arm up, it looks so posed.

I also like No2 with Jade looking down.

Oh but they are all good poses. I think No.1 of the second batch with Jade's foot on the wall looks so natural.

In the last one, I think there is a bit of movement - her eyes and dress aren't pin sharp, but two before that is so sharp, I can read the writing on her ring - well nearly. The last figure looks like a 2.

Very well done. I like them a lot.

                Thanks Bear and Audrey

I must admit when I saw the first one in light room I just knew I like it. A few tweaks and it now really works. I know there are loads and a lot are a bit alike but there are loads more on my flickr site. We do have another shoot in the pipe line for next week and I really hope it all comes off. We are off on a boat to a small Island called Herm. It has a great beach on it called shell beach and I am so looking forward to shooting there. Just need to sort out baby sitters for her little one and have the weather on our side and we should be well away. Wish me luck with that one and I will post here for sure
